The Kyuden Otomo Dojo was the dojo of the Otomo family, where the Otomo Seiyaku were trained. Since the first Hantei built his great city the Otomo protected the Emperor by subverting conspiracies among the clans. By keeping the clans in opposition against each other they ensured that there was always someone who desperately needed the Emperor to keep the peace. Only twice in the history had the Otomo failed this duty. Once the group known as the Gozoku seized control of the Emperor, and second when the Scorpion Clan Champion Bayushi Shoju killed Hantei XXXVIII.
