Cornelius Joyner (April 17, 1830 - August 17, 1902), a farmer from Nash County, North Carolina, served in Company D of the 47th North Carolina during the American Civil War. He was wounded in July 1863 at the Battle of Gettysburg. His grave stone spells his first name Cornelious.
