This is one of the reasons why languages have errors (and exceptions) in many ways. Believe me, English is not the only imperfect language. Almost every single language has "exceptions" which to me are an excuse to cover their own mistakes while developing the language. The two words have a total different meaning. * Vegetarians - people who eat vegetables. * Humanitarians - people who do good for humanity. And what category exactly does the word "humane" belong... the way that word came up is even more of a mystery. All we know is, that it means to be kind to animals.
