Reverend George William Gent (1852- 9 May 1898). He graduated from the University of Oxford in 1876 and took a teaching post in Llandovery College, Carmarthenshire. In 1880 he moved to London as curate of St Matthew, Westminster. In 1886 he was appointed principal of St Mark's College, Chelsea and in 1895 rural dean of Chelsea. Member of the London School Board representing Chelsea 1888-91. He was appointed principal of St David's College, Lampeter in June 1897. He became seriously ill and died suddenly on a visit to London to consult a doctor in May 1898.
