| - ===Early Life and joining the X-Men===
Kitty Pryde was born to single mother, Therasa Pryde. When Kitty was fifteen, shortly after the Galactus Event, Kitty began suffering dizzy spells and would find herself phasing through objects during regular everyday activities.
This would lead to her mother contacting Professor Charles Xavier. Xavier was eager to have an intelligent young woman like Kitty in his school and quickly enrolled her.
She would quickly become friends with Kurt Wagner, who also a newcomer at Xavier's School. Kitty would also develop an interest in the X-Men veteran, Pietro Luu, the two would eventually begin dating and she would also join the X-Men alongside Kurt and Hank.Aftermath
One day the X-Men were contacted by the new King of Wakanda T'Challa Udaka aka the Black Panther for help against Ulysses Klaue and some mercenaries who had come to Wakanda to steal Vibranium. On the X-Jet to Wakanda, Storm would seem...silent, the others would notice this and Quicksilver would ask her what's wrong which would lead Cyclops to inform Quicksilver that Wakanda is Storm's home and she is worried, although Storm would tell the rest of the team that that wasn't only what she was nervous about, she would then tell the team of her and T'Challa's history before she joined the X-Men and before he became King.
Upon arriving to Wakanda, the X-Men would be greeted with hostility from the natives, even Storm couldn't keep the heat down until T'Challa, in his Black Panther gear, would order his guards off and welcome the X-Men to Wakanda. Black Panther would take them into the city and brief them on Klaw's partners, they were the Juggernaut, the Radioactive Man, Batroc the Leaper and the Black Knight and tell them that he had received intel detailing that Klaw and his mercenaries were planning on attacking the Royal City.
After a day of relaxation, rest and being treated well by the Wakandans. The X-Men were ready to help defend the Royal City from Klaw, when Klaw and his mercenaries arrived the Black Panther would go on to fight Klaw on his own while the X-Men would combat the mercenaries. The X-Men would eventually defeat the mercenaries and save the Royal City, shortly after Black Panther would return with Klaw's unconscious body and thank the X-Men for helping him and declared them friends and allies to Wakanda.

| - Phasing/Intangibility: Shadowcat possesses the ability to pass through solid matter and objects by passing her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she is moving. In this way she and the object through which she was passing could temporarily merge without interacting, and each was unharmed when Shadowcat had finished passing through the object. This process was called "phasing." When Shadowcat was phasing, she was, for all intents and purposes, intangible. Hence, when attacked, she could shift into a "phasing" state so as to allow oncoming projectiles or energy blasts to pass through her harmlessly. Shadowcat passed through objects at the same rate of speed at which she was moving before she "entered" it.
*Selective Intangibility: Allows others to become intangible and make other objects intangible by making them pass through other massive solid objects easily such as buildings, planes, and trains.
*Air & Water Walking: Using her phasing/intangibility ability, Shadowcat can freely walk on both air and water. In fact, she could use her ability to walk on water and the air from the ground to the upper stories of a building as if she were climbing a staircase.
*Phasing/Intangibility Extension: From the first use of her phasing power, Shadowcat was able to phase her clothing along with herself. Through practice she learned to phase other objects along with herself without harm to them, and at one point phased an entire X-Men team. She could also enable someone as big as Colossus to "walk on air" along with her. However, she had to maintain physical contact with the people or objects she phased along with herself for the effect to work with this other person or object.
*Electronic Disruption: She could phase through any material object, even living people. When she phased through an object with an electrical system, the process disrupted the system's workings.
*Hyper-Dense: Shadowcat, after a greater amount of training, she will realize that she also possesses the ability to condense the atoms of her body, as well as accrue extradimensional mass, fortifying her body with it.
*Super Strength: Kitty is able to harden her molecular structure, giving her strength beyond that of the finest human athlete. It is uncertain what her current limits are as of yet.
*Superhuman Durability: She can become a towering giant and hard as diamond. At maximum mass, Shadowcat weighs about 90 tons.
*Superhuman Physical Resistance: Able to resist extreme impacts such as car crashes, bullets, stabs, falling from high altitude, incredible g-force and pressure.
