California Couture W 2901; 1960s; Dan Werle's design concept is enhancement of the woman, not slavish devotion to fashion. From his latest collection, we show here a tunic design that can be easily changed into the fashionable midi length or worn at the length most becoming to your figure. The asymmetrical closing of the tunic flatters the slender figure and is the perfect slenderizer for a more statuesque woman. While it gives the appearance of a two-piece dress, the pattern actually is made all in one piece so very little sewing is required. Werle executed this design for fall in a lightweight taupe wool with contrasting collar, but other fabrics would give it a change of character.
