Established in 1984, the Latin American Institute for High Technology Informatics and Law (Instituto Latinoamericano de Alta Tecnología, Informática y Derecho) (ILATID) is an international non-governmental organization of legal professionals from the Latin American and Caribbean countries who voluntarily cooperate in R&D projects connected with the legal issues of the information and communication technologies. ILATID acts in permanent relationship with specialized agencies of the United Nations, including UNESCO and WIPO.
