  • Sandor Woden (8 BBY—15 ABY) was a traitor to the Galactic Empire, and a benefactor of the New Republic, though admittedly his contributions were small. Having experienced Imperial corruption firsthand, during his meteoric rise to the rank of Sergeant Major in the Imperial Army in just six months, Sandor quickly became disillusioned with the elaborate system of favors that exists in the military bureaucracy, and tried, with little success, to find a way out of his service contract. While this put him at odds with some of his superiors, none of them truly expected him to become involved in the Moff Sekirol Crisis, and if not for the deal secured by Field Marshal Valtoor to put an end to a series of bloody confrontations, it's likely that Sandor would simply have been executed. • Sandor Woden (8 BBY—) is an on again off again traitor to and soldier of the Galactic Empire, due mainly to an almost limitless supply of luck. Over the years he has fought for the Empire, a splinter faction of the Empire known as the Principality of Chiarn, the New Republic, and even criminal elements of the galaxy-wide underworld. Despite his mercenary tendencies, however, Sandor fights on an ideological basis. Having watched massacres firsthand on countless worlds, narrowly averting his own demise on many of them, Sandor seeks above all else an end to the seemingly endless tides of war that have lasted all but his entire lifetime. His ultimate goal is to see what he believes the spirit of the New Order implemented across as many worlds as possible: a benevolent, stable dictatorship, welcoming to aliens, with ample social services provided to make up for the limited degree of individual enfranchisement that such a state can provide. An avid holonet junkie, Sandor has come to the belief that the New Order was meant as a dictatorship for the people, and that COMPNOR's role in the creation and propagation of human high culture was something that the Emperor only tolerated as a means to an end, lacking the social platforms required to bring his "true" vision into reality. From 15 ABY to 18 ABY, Sandor spent much of his time in prisons and interrogation chambers, first Imperial and later Sith. Having been first imprisoned and later rescued by the Imperials, Sandor's belief in the existence of factions within the Galactic Empire, either for or against COMPNOR, has been strengthened considerably. The experience has not left him unscarred, however; Sandor battles with waking nightmares and the idea that some of his memories may be nothing more than the product of extended exposure to the hallucinogenic properties of the "truth serum" Bavo Six. Rather than trust in his memories, Sandor has begun to distance himself from them, and to focus more upon the opportunities of the future, and on abstract concepts. Above all else, Sandor is a survivor, and carries his beliefs as both a moral compass and as a beacon for his own sanity amidst a sea of massacres, deception, and several separate attempts at re-education. Instead, he fled the Empire entirely, in the wake of Ai'kani Za'netra's escape from the OS Guardian. After his defection, Sandor was involved in several battles alongside NR Marines, and took two additional wounds in the process. He recieved no medals from these events, however, likely due to the rather dubious means by which he escaped his second service contract. Fiercely independent, and dedicated to seeing an end to the fighting without the destruction of either side in the war, Sandor had come to believe that the politics no longer really matter, and that no matter who wins, the people caught in the middle will suffer a terrible price. He was not so naive as to think that he can possibly bring about this change, however, and had instead dedicated his actions to improving the quality of life for those around him, especially the people he truly cared about, until a change in the greater political situation could take place. Sandor Woden was captured on Ord Mantell by bounty hunter Jorj Brinaj and smuggled out of the New Republic, ending up as a captive aboard the HIMS Inquisitor. After a thorough interrogation, as well as some less than pleasant means utilized to coerce him into divulging what little he knew of the New Republic beyond open-source material, he was charged with treason. Rather than fighting the inevitable, Sandor pled guilty to all crimes associated with his name, and was ordered shot during Kelona, fifteen years after the Battle of Yavin. He was just barely twenty four years of age.
