  • Julia Foster was the assistant at Berman Rose to Daniel Goldstein, found shot in the park with an antique lead ball in his chest in "Punked". Julia was present when Beckett and Castle first came to the offices to interview Adam Murphy about Daniel's last (working) hours. She raised the fact of the "Lower Tide Fund", one of the financial products Daniel had created for the firm, and a collapse which cost numerous investors millions of dollars - each. However, time would show that neither time travel nor an angry investor had put Daniel in the park that night, but something rather more romantic - a duel, with Adam, over Julia's 'honor'. The two guys had cooked up a scheme to make this 'beau geste' in hopes that it might make Julia look at Daniel twice, and as something more than just a nerd. Daniel had assured Adam, having crunched the numbers, that (at forty paces) neither of them stood the slightest chance of hitting the other with the period duelling pistols they employed. When Daniel went down, Adam and Julia panicked, stripped the body of the giveaway steampunk clothing, and fled. Of course, in point of fact, Daniel's math had been spot on - the killshot was due to an x factor.
