- The Smugglers is a magazine story.
- So Ben and Polly break into the TARDIS, not unlike most of the First Doctor's companions. The travelers are whisked off to seventeenth century Cornwall, which is duller than it sounds. They accidentally interrupt a suicidal church wardens drunken binge, and he mistakenly tells the Doctor some total bullshit that causes a lot of problems.

Story
| - Your trainer tells you that your presence is required in the command post. It seems that Gunfar is intrigued by the mysterious activities on the island east of Rottersvall.
Gunfar thinks that the activity is that of smugglers, and requests that you use your abilities as a scout to check out their camp. He tells you that the camp lies east of the village, beyond the burning tower.
As you approach the camp, the first person you speak to is Mili. She directs you to Sergent Valvor, who seems a bit shifty. After Valvor assures you that there is nothing wrong with the shipment, you decide to due a little investigating of your own. The first item you check is Valvor's log book. According to the logs, everything is in order, but as you turn around to leave the camp, you notice and odd crate. As you peer between its boards, you catch the unmistakable gleam of the precious mineral Xymerald. Looking beyond the Xymerald crate you see another crate that appears to be moving. As you approach, you can hear the unmistakable sounds of an animal within. The logs said nothing of transporting Xymerald, let alone transporting animals...
When you return to Rottersvall, you tell Gunfar about findings. Gunfar is surprised by your report, and tells you that you haven't discovered smugglers, but rather, you've discovered a secret Xymerald cargo that the empire uses to fund the Realm war. The crated animal, however, remains a mystery.

They accidentally interrupt a suicidal church wardens drunken binge, and he mistakenly tells the Doctor some total bullshit that causes a lot of problems. Anyways, some pirates show up looking for some treasure, which you think would be interesting, but Hayles manages to make it bland as fuck. No joke, I fell asleep during episode 3, which isn't even the dullest of the four. Ben and Polly and the Doctor are separated, because no one knows how to write historicals in any other way. Some more bullshit happens, Blake shows up with some Militiamen, there's a battle, and almost everyone dies while the Doctor, Ben, and Polly laugh it all of in the TARDIS. Of course, the joke is on the Doctor, because his number is up next.
