| - The National Assembly of Cascadia is the lower house of the Parliament of Cascadia, which also includes the National Council of Cascadia, the upper house. There are currently 360 members of the National Assembly. Cascadia uses proportional representation, so multiple members (on average 12) are elected from an electoral district, and then distributed by percentage of vote. All members hold their seats until they resign or until the next legislative election, which must happen every four years. There are rarely majorities in the National Assembly, so coalitions are usually formed between multiple parties. The three largest parties in the National Assembly are the Progressive Party, Conservative Party, and Democratic Party. The Green Party, Liberal Party, and Socialist Party also hold seats. The National Assembly is located in the Assembly Building in Seattle, the capital of Cascadia. It was built in 2005 to house the National Assembly elected in 2004. Each party controls a section of seats in the semicircle of seats. Elections to the National Assembly are held every four years. The most recent election was in 2008, and the next one will be held in 2012. Elections are held on the first Saturday of September.
