An ovarian culture was a human ovary cultured to produce eggs for use in uterine replicator-based reproduction. The all-male society on Athos relied on stocks of female eggs, along with uterine replicators, in order to reproduced without women; a typical ovarian culture could last approximately two hundred years before senescing.
