Truffle Trolls are a group of trolls that resemble humanoid pigs that appear in the cartoon show episode "A Mere Truffle". They live in a cave inside a mountain at the south end of the forest. They are so named because they go after truffles like pigs, but instead of eating them, which makes them sick, they feed the truffles to a creature that lives in the Lake of Doom inside the cave called "the thing with no name", which only appears in the form of green tentacles.

abstract	Truffle Trolls are a group of trolls that resemble humanoid pigs that appear in the cartoon show episode "A Mere Truffle". They live in a cave inside a mountain at the south end of the forest. They are so named because they go after truffles like pigs, but instead of eating them, which makes them sick, they feed the truffles to a creature that lives in the Lake of Doom inside the cave called "the thing with no name", which only appears in the form of green tentacles. In the story that they appear in, the Truffle Trolls notice that a group of Smurfs led by Tracker were stealing truffles from the place where they themselves normally look for truffles. They seek out and capture the Smurfs, who under the orders of the troll king were to be placed on the isle in the middle of the Lake of Doom for "the thing with no name" to have its way with them. Papa Smurf's group finds out that the trolls have taken them and follow the trolls' tracks to their cave, where they gain entry by Jokey giving the guard one of his "surprises". While Jokey distracts "the thing with no name" by feeding it truffles, Handy and Hefty take a boat to the island to rescue the Smurfs stranded on it. However, the Truffle Trolls soon find the Smurfs and give chase after them across the lake. Unfortunately for the trolls, "the thing with no name" ended up turning on them and crushed their boat, causing them to swim to shore.
