I am not going to set hard and fast rules, because everyone wants something different. My way of tracking followers has no trouble with this. I will modify this as needed. This page serves to keep a sensible ruling on hero points and follower points.

- Hero Point are a feature introduced in Battlefield Heroes. They allows players to unlock or upgrade abilities and may be redistributed at any time. Players start out with one Hero Point and obtain more upon ranking up in multiples of two, with a maximum of 16 total Hero Points available.
- Hero Points (also known as Stars) affect your characters stats. No stars means that your hero is fighting without a bonus. They will fight better the more stars they have up to five the maximum. Stars make your character slightly stronger than usual and allows you to survive especially difficult encounters. A character gains Stars by completing missions and defeating villains. A character loses one star each time they are defeated. The Stars are displayed along the bottom edge of the player portrait, in the upper-left corner of the UI (by default).
- Hero Points were a short-lived system in Greg's school which appeared in Hard Luck. If a student was seen being kind to someone else, they would be awarded with one, and they could be used for prizes such as extra recess, and the class with the most would get a day-off before summer break (in June).

- Hero Points were a short-lived system in Greg's school which appeared in Hard Luck. If a student was seen being kind to someone else, they would be awarded with one, and they could be used for prizes such as extra recess, and the class with the most would get a day-off before summer break (in June). They were printed in sheets and were separated from each other. Shortly after introduction, Erick Glick got one of the sheets, photocopied them, and sold them for a quarter. Soon after, the teachers was suspicious that some of the worst kids started turning in and getting many Hero Points for extra recess, so the school invalidated the white ones and started printing them on green and soon started changing the colors frequently for a while, but photocopies of these were also made. Eventually, the school got tired of this practice and made a rule that only five or less Hero Points can be redeemed at once. Any children who received more than that were given detention because it could be counterfeit. After the janitor found out the secret base where photo-copies were made, the school shut the Hero Points system down.

There are vendors in each map usually posing as some sort of relief or charity worker where you can donate resources to replenish one or all of your Hero Points. A character with all 5 stars has a plus 15% damage and healing bonus added. A character with zero stars is fighting as normal. There is no death penalty in the game other than losing your bonus.
