  • * Best Buddiez!, the game show featured in this episode, is a parody of The Newlywed Game. * The episode title is based on the 1989 Michael Moore documentary Roger & Me. * Stan and Roger are seen drinking Tecates in the hot tub. * Roger mentions that his favorite movie is Miller's Crossing and is seen to quote a number of John Turturro's lines from that film. Stan later incorrectly guesses that Roger's favorite movie is White Chicks. * "George C. Scott Park", the park where Hayley and Steve scheme to cause Miles and Trudy to meet, could be a play on Francis Scott Key Park, adjacent to the northern end of Francis Scott Key Bridge , which is found in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., and is less than a quarter mile from Georgetown University, where Miles is a student. It is also obviously a reference to Academy Award winning actor George C. Scott. * When Stan has a yard sale in order to raise money for Francine's expensive hospital bills, he tries to sell Roger's porcelain dogs. Roger mentions that their names are "Gypsy Rose Lee" and "Mama Rose," a reference to the main characters in the musical Gypsy. * When Stan wants to hang up on Roger, He says the famous line from Fatal Attraction, "I will not be ignored Dan". Dan was switched to Stan.
