Okuninushi can be casted through any medium which is what makes the genjutsu so versatile. Once casted, the user catches the target within an illusion that he/she has complete control over. Unlike other techniques, that simply cause the target to become helpless when casted, this technique can also cast illusions where the target continues to move around under the pretense of the genjutsu. This means the user is not only able to generate illusions in their own genjutsu realm, but also able in what appears to be the physical realm.

  • Okuninushi can be casted through any medium which is what makes the genjutsu so versatile. Many describe the technique to be limitless. Once casted, the user is able to manipulate anything such as time and space. Jushiro Kurama described it as being able to cast any genjutsu or any technique with little to no regulations. The only limitations are the user's imagination. To use this technique to its greatest extent, one must either be truly intelligent or very knowledgeable on their target. Such a technique has both physical and mental effects on the target. Similar to Tsukuyomi, this technique can literately make the target go insane. Very few medical shinobi can undo the psychological damage. In some cases, if the user manipulates time and offer a great amount of detail, can kill the target with simply the illusion. Through use of the Nenmu's power, the user can deal physical damage to the target allowing them to kill the opponent through relatively easier means. Because of this many have considered this technique the Ultimate Illusion. But a technique such as this is not without drawbacks. If the user performs this technique without truly becoming one with the evil soul within them, it could cause the second soul to take over and consume the user's soul. Performing this technique is extremely chakra taxing, even if the user is casting a very basic illusion. Many have suspected that this technique has a cool down time, though the exact amount of time is still unknown.
