The Elven rulers of Cirdoniel grew incredibly displeased with their inhabitants; the dark Elf Miriam Darkwood had been taking Kobolds into the city's underground, whilst another dark Elf; Ariel Dawnsinger, was promoted to Vigil-leader and head of the Cirdoniel military. This drew immense jealously from the high Elf population and sparked a rift between the two. The once grand city was shattered and no citizen would return to their ruins, as a constant reminder of what their foolish pride had wrought.

  • The Elven rulers of Cirdoniel grew incredibly displeased with their inhabitants; the dark Elf Miriam Darkwood had been taking Kobolds into the city's underground, whilst another dark Elf; Ariel Dawnsinger, was promoted to Vigil-leader and head of the Cirdoniel military. This drew immense jealously from the high Elf population and sparked a rift between the two. Ariel was cast out, along with Elves sympathetic to her cause and went into the world seeking military assistance to return her to her rightful place. She slipped back into the city under the cover of nightfall, recovering her artifact sword and liberating captive Kobolds. The city was ransacked and a number of Elves were killed in the ensuing rioting. The battles resulted in the Elves abandoning Cirdoniel completely; the high Elves retreated to Bastion, their refuge deeper in the western forests, the Wood Elves founded Luanport and the Dark Elves, along with a small band of Humans, founded the town of Freehaven; a ramshackle collection of shacks which was a melting pot of outcasts and criminals. The once grand city was shattered and no citizen would return to their ruins, as a constant reminder of what their foolish pride had wrought.
