Olan Dery was a member of the Jedi Order in the decades preceding, and during, the Clone Wars. A lifelong member of the Order, Dery was totally committed to the Jedi cause and tried to follow the Jedi Code at all times, though he himself acknowledged that he sometimes failed in his endeavours. During the Clone Wars, he was made a Jedi General, and led elements of the Grand Army of the Republic in many combat situations throughout the war. At the climax of the war, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who was in fact the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, ordered the execution of Order 66 - a command which caused the clone troopers to kill their Jedi commanders. Dery was no exception. While fighting on Kalee, Dery was betrayed by the Advanced Recon Commandos of Omega Team and executed.
