Lydia is the cook of Castle Britannia in Ultima IX. When the Avatar first arrived in Britain, Lydia told the hero that Lord British had been worried sick because he had been looking for the Avatar, and he wanted to makes things right again in Britannia, but could not figure out how. Later, after the Avatar cleansed the Shrine of Compassion, Lydia remarked how much nicer things were in the city, and even gave the hero some food, commenting that he looked too thin.
