| - Usinsk (Finn. Usala, Komi Uskar) is a Uralican city in Pechora county, located 100 km north of the county seat by air, but when travelling by highway (Highways UH-1 to Synja, and then UH-1B north from there) the distance is closer to 135 km. The municipal body has its borders along the Usa River some 30km east of its confluence with the Pechora River. However, "Usinsk proper" is roughly 2 kilometres inland, with its river port actually being in the subordinate town of Parma.

The municipal body has its borders along the Usa River some 30km east of its confluence with the Pechora River. However, "Usinsk proper" is roughly 2 kilometres inland, with its river port actually being in the subordinate town of Parma. Yet another Uralican settlement that once relied solely on petroleum production, refineries still exist in the city, but the oil they refine is 100% imported. Instead, domestic forestry, industrial gas production, metallurgy, mining of non-metallic minerals, and pharmaceutical production happen in Usinsk. Completely self-sufficient (a necessity due to its relative isolation), Usinsk's retail sector suits the needs of the city, with various stores available in the city-proper. It was from Usinsk (and Pechora as well) that the intensive cleanup effort of the Pechora Basin was launched. Nowadays, the Usa River teems with fish, and environmentalist measures are in place to keep the river that way.
