| - Henshin is a sign that Joe, Director Blue, Sylvia, and so on use to turn into there Super Hero form. As the user does a distinctive handsign, they must say the words, "Henshin". But, as Joe says it "Henshin a Go Go Baby!!" The user also needs to have a V-watch on their rists to use Henshin so that the transformation can occur.
- "Henshin" (変身 literally transformation), or "Henshin-A-Go-Go, baby!" as Joe says it, is the phrase all V-Watch wielding superheroes must shout in order to transform. Aside from the catchphrase, Joe also modified the hand sign that was used. The normal hand sign simply being all fingers slightly bent, whereas Joe's involves the thumb, middle, and pinky fingers sticking out, so that they resemble the letters "VJ".
- Henshin(変身henshin) is the Japanese word for "transformation," literally meaning, "to change or transform the body." This word is primarily used in manga, anime, and tokusatsu dramas for when a character transforms into a superhero. Henshin heroes(変身ヒーローHenshin Hīrō) usually have a "henshin call", a catchphrase which they recite when they transform. The word "henshin" is most often used by characters in the Kamen Rider Series, whereas other programs use various words such as souchaku(装着sōchaku, meaning "equip"), or will use phrases unique to the story.
- "Henshin!" (変身 Henshin) is the Japanese word for "transformation/transform" meaning "to change or transform the body" or "equip". In the Kamen Rider Series, it is a common transformation call for what a Rider shouts when they are about to transform. It is said to have been the suggestion of producer Toru Hirayama, based on the Japanese title of Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, which features a man transformed into an inhuman, bug-like creature against his will, a recurring theme of the Kamen Rider Series.

| - A Henshin is a common transformation technique, where the user accesses a special dimension known as the Grid. It contains a unique and powerful energy, and when absorbed by the user, it will ascend them into a transformed state, known as a “Henshin Form”. This grants them enchanted armor and various special abilities such as enhanced strength, swiftness, and durability. Some exceptionally skilled warriors can henshin naturally, by channeling their energy properly and gaining a spiritual connection to the Grid. Alien species may have a much easier time doing this compared to humans, because oftentimes they’ve practiced the technique throughout many generations, while its still a new and foreign concept to the likes of mankind. But humans often invent special devices to assist with a henshin, manually opening their own gateway into the Grid through the use of technology, although their souls must still be strong enough to maintain its power. Extended usage may put a strain on the users’ life force, so it should always be used in moderation. This is because it was designed for the strongest of warriors...and its often far too powerful for a normal human to bear. An average hero can only maintain their form temporarily without consequence.

With the exception of the wordless transformations of Riderman, the riders of Kamen Rider The First & Kamen Rider The Next, the Oni Riders in Kamen Rider Hibiki, and Shin in Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue, the "Amazon!" cry of the Amazon Riders, and the "Set up!" (セットアップ Setto Appu) call of Kamen Rider X, every Japanese Kamen Rider uses the phrase when assuming Rider Form. Some Riders have similar catchphrases for when they assume different forms while still in rider form, such as Kamen Rider Kuuga's "Cho Henshin" (超変身 Chō Henshin, lit. "Super Transformation") and Kamen Rider Ex-Aid's "Dai Henshin" (大変身, lit. "Great Transformation") phrases.
