As Chris Redfield watches from afar, Jill Valentine, exhausted from the events of the incident, laid her head down on Chris's shoulder. Rebecca Chambers, likewise, was lying down on the helicopter floor asleep, while also silently crying over the horrific events of the night. Chris proceeded to continue looking outside the chopper. Back to the inside of what was the Umbrella laboratory underneath the Arklay Mountains, however, among the flaming debris, Wesker's sunglasses are seen nearby, although Wesker's body is nowhere to be found, ominously implying his survival. Throughout the scene, Wesker narrates that the incident at the Spencer Mansion drew to a close on July 25th, 1998, and that the Raccoon City Police Department's Special Tactics and Rescue Service, with the exception of Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Rebecca Chambers, had been wiped out, and that any evidence tying the event to Umbrella had been destroyed alongside the mansion itself. He then mentioned that he had felt the pain of coming death for a brief moment, before acknowledging that even his near-death had been part of his plan against Umbrella, revealing that, although no one was aware of it at the time, he had in fact not only survived, but had "become something greater" upon "casting off [his] frail humanity."
