- William Thomas "Bill" Ward (born 5 May 1948) is an English musician and visual artist, best known as the original drummer for the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. An original founding member of the band, Ward also performed as lead vocalist on two Black Sabbath songs; "It's Alright" from the album Technical Ecstasy and "Swinging the Chain" from the album Never Say Die!.
- Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ward grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey, where his father was an executive with the United Fruit Company. Still rooming at his college fraternity house, he received a call from Pratt regarding another job, assisting comic book artist Jack Binder. He joined Binder's small art studio, a "packager" that supplied outsourced comics pages to fledgling comic book publishers, where Pete Riss was his assistant. The studio was relocating from The Bronx to Ridgewood, New Jersey, at the time, to the upstairs loft of a barn. There, Binder drew layouts for Fawcett Comics stories, for which Riss penciled and inked figures and Ward drew the backgrounds. - Bill Ward (August 8, 1930 - ) is a former NASCAR driver from Anniston, AL. He competed in seven Sprint Cup Series events in his career. Ward's debut came in 1969, when he competed at Talladega. Starting 18th in the boycott field, Ward completed most of the laps and wound up with a solid 11th place finish, a run that would prove to be his career best. Ward's next start, which came in 1972, came yet again at Talladega. This time, though, Ward severely struggled. Starting last (50th) in the field, Ward only made it to 49th by day's end due to an oil leak just ten laps into the race.
