The Burgess Bank was a bank in Harlem that opened in the nineteen-twenties that, during the Pacification of New York, was secretly controlled by the socialite crime boss known as "Queenie". As the guards at the time were usually in debt to her bookies, they were made to look the other way during Queenie and her accomplices' latenight visits to the bank.
