Khomi was a province on Vulcan. This region bordered that of Shi'al on the south and was noted as being a smaller province. Beyond the Llangon Mountains, the area consisted primarily of flat and barren hardpan which were cracked and canyoned by the strongest tectonic activity of any region on Na'nam. This made living there somewhat difficult due to the earthquakes but the large mineral deposits that thrusted up through the mantle in the barren region made it a worthwhile position for work.

This made living there somewhat difficult due to the earthquakes but the large mineral deposits that thrusted up through the mantle in the barren region made it a worthwhile position for work. As such, it was consisted of the largest mining operations that was active on Vulcan. Here, massive drilling machines did most of the work and once the ores were mined, they were transported up to various orbital facilities where they were processed. The mining process itself was slow and somewhat expensive but it greatly reduced the risk of loss of life. Those Vulcans that resided in the area dwelled in underground complexes that were built inside the mountains which were somewhat more geologically stable than the flatlands and thus made these subterranean habitats safer. By the Llangon Mountains and those areas particularly bordering Shi'al were many monasteries such as the Tinsha Monastery. These locations concealed many more isolated monastic communities, however, little was known of them beyond some very old records at ShirKahr that spoke of several groups leaving the cities for Khomi. These records also stated that not all the groups left the main cities because they opposed Surak's teachings. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Way of Kolinahr: The Vulcans)
