  • Felix the Cat is a funny animal cartoon character created in the Silent film era. The anthropomorphic black cat with his black body, white eyes, and giant grin, coupled with the Surrealism of the situations in which his cartoons place him, combine to make Felix one of the most recognized cartoon characters in film history. Felix was the first character from animation to attain a level of popularity sufficient to draw movie audiences. In 2002, TV Guide ranked Felix the Cat number 28 on its "50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time" list.
  • Felix can vary from a mischievious drifter who causes trouble (but never malice) or an innocent childlike character depending on the writer and era - in all of his appearances he is shown to aid people in need, during the 50s and 60s Felix would gain his first true archenemy in the form of The Professor but also gained an ally in the form of Poindexter, during their adventures Felix would gain a few other notable enemies such as Rock Bottom, Master Cylinder and the Duke Of Zill (only seen in the Felix the Cat Movie).
