Vasko played junior hockey for the Chicago farm team St. Catharines TeePees from 1953-54 through 1955-56. They won the Memorial Cup in 1953-54. He made the Black Hawks in 1956-57 and played 10 seasons for them before retiring in 1966. He was a second team all star in 1962-63 and 1963-64. The expansion Minnesota North Stars talked him out of retiring in 1967. Vasko played two seasons for them (1967-68 and 1968-69) and one for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles (1969-70) before retiring for good.
