Monterey's Tex-Mex Cafe, originally Monterey House and later Monterey's Little Mexico, is a chain of Tex-Mex themed restaurants in Oklahoma and Texas. The chain was purchased by Brock Hotel Corporation in July 1987, and operated by ShowBiz Pizza Time from 1988 to 1994. The chain was sold to Monterey's Acquisitions Co. of Houston, Texas for $6.7 million in cash, and a $4.7 million promissory note. In addition, ShowBiz retained a 12.5% ownership interest in Monterey's Acquisitions, a new division of the Pineapple Group of Houston. The sale was completed in May 1994.
