Text
| - Kirth asks a merchant what she thinks. "It's King Joffrey's Comet," she says, knowing full well who she's talking to. "Red for Lannister, of course."
- Ask the old man what he means.
- "Too many kings. A throne made of swords, the lion tears the kingdom asunder, and blood will fall!"
- Seek a nearby merchant's opinion of what the comet portends.
- As they arrive in King's Landing a red comet overhands the sky. "It's blood!" shouts an old man. "Yours!" He points. Bronn draws steel to silence him.
- Find out what Tyrion thinks of the old man's words.
- Proclaim loudly that the crimson comet is a symbol of the rise of House Lannister.
- Dismiss the old man's words as harmless fool's ravings.
- Tell Bronn to kill the old man for his treason against King Joffrey.
- "Well..." Tyrion shrugs. "Joff's on the throne, Renly says he's king and is raising rebels, and now the North says Robb's king. Blood's inevitable."

In later years, Lucas wrote a novel which was a love story about a scientist who relied on a comet in the sky to guide him. This novel was realized by many others, before Lucas, that it was about his love for Peyton and eventually led to ruining his engagement to Lindsey Strauss. Following the meltdown of his engagement, Lucas and Peyton rekindled their romance and had a child before leaving Tree Hill. When they left Tree Hill, they left in Peyton's car to find their new life away from the town.
