A three-game unbeaten run came to a juddering halt when Rovers traveled to the Priestfield Stadium for their League Two clash with Gillingham. 2–0 down at the break to a Lewis Montrose header and an injury-time penalty from Danny Kedwell, Rovers gave themselves hope early in the second half when Mustapha Carayol scored. Danny Jackman made it 3–1 midway through the period though, and when Cian Bolger was sent off for a professional foul and Kedwell netted his second goal of the match from the resultant penalty it was all over as a contest.
