Black Ops Heavy Soldiers usually accompany a squad of standard Black Ops Soldiers, supporting them with the SHO Series-3 Combat Shotgun; as a result, they act more like shock troops. They almost always use combat shotguns, as well as the Patten PK470 Assault Rifle and Andra SR5 Missile Launcher, and one even comes with the Armacham HV Hammerhead late in the game. They coordinate much more effectively than the regular guards. About halfway through the game, Michael Becket will start encountering the Heavy Soldiers in much larger numbers, leading squads of their own kind or of regular guards. Flanking and grenades are the most effective ways of getting rid of these enemies. Note that rushing them without Slow-Mo is more often than not suicidal, due to their usage of shotguns and assault rifl

Flanking and grenades are the most effective ways of getting rid of these enemies. Note that rushing them without Slow-Mo is more often than not suicidal, due to their usage of shotguns and assault rifles. However, they do move slower than normal Black Ops soldiers due to their heavier equipment. The first Heavy Guard is introduced in the Harbinger Facility, where he mercilessly executes a surgeon trying to revive a critically injured nurse. Unlike their grunt counterpart, the Heavies don't have an Elite form. They are in fact deployed with Elites, as seen in Interval 05 - Provocation - Snake Fist.
