Máirín ("Mo") Duffy is the leader of the Fedora Design Team and is an interaction designer with Red Hat. She has also been involved in the GNOME project. Máirín was the first woman to serve on the Fedora Project Board. She has been involved in a number of outreach programs for children in technology, most notably a digital media class for Girl Scouts that used free software such as Inkscsape and Gimp which she put together along with Marina Zhurakhinskaya and Deb Nicholson. Máirín is also involved in various efforts to bring more designers to the free software community.
