Abdulaziz II was Sultan of the Ottoman Empire and Caliph of Islam. He was born on 26 September, 1901, in Constantinople, Ottoman Empire, a son of Prince Mehmed Seyfeddin and Necem Felik Hanim. He became Sultan of the Ottoman Empire and Caliph of Islam upon the death of Osman IV on 19 May, 1973. He reigned until his death on 19 January, 1977 in Constantinople, and was succeeded by Ali I.
