On April 19th 2009 Travis Zajac scored his second career playoff goal and lifted the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 overtime win against the Carolina Hurricanes in Carolina and would give the Devils a 2-1 lead in the series. He centered the Devils' second line with fellow University of North Dakota alumnus Zach Parise (they were not teammates at North Dakota) on his left and Jamie Langenbrunner as his right wing. The line was referred to as the "PZL" or "ZZ Pop" line by many Devils fans. On July 22nd, 2009, Zajac signed a contract extension with the Devils, avoiding arbitration.
