It sits on the Ufa River, which is in the Kama Basin. The city has a very efficient and diverse economic structure, with six particular sectors standing out and being nearly equal in their output - machine-building, metalworking, building material production (it should also be noted that Krasnoufimsk is noteworthy for its drywall production), woodworking and furniture, energy production (although their nuclear power plants from previous years are non-functioning, they still have substantial output from other sources, including nearly every other power source possible), and agriculture. Krasnoufimsk is on par with cities ten times its size or more in terms of the success of small and medium businesses, plus food production, forestry, retail, finance, and tourism also have a presence.
