The Armor in the multiplayer mode of 2016's incarnation of DOOM is purely a cosmetic function. The player may modify the armor's color, styles, and wear. The styles available are separated into pieces of which being: head, body, left arm, right arm, and legs. The pieces can be mixed and matched with other sets. The player may also choose to use the Praetor Suit in multiplayer and SnapMap, but will not retain the use of Runes or Argent cache upgrades as used by the Doom Slayer in the campaign mode. This suit cannot be coloured differently or mixed with other armor.
