He played junior hockey for the Toronto Canoe Club from 1923 to 1926. In 1926-27 he turned pro with the Chicago Cardinals. Brydson was called up for eight games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1929-30 and scored two goals, Other than that, he played all of his pro career in the minors. He retired in 1933.
