Saintsvale is a county spanning the central part of the Bastion mountain range from west to east. It is the most important county of the Crags by far, a fact often regarded as odd by outsiders because it lacks access to sea and is one of the smallest counties in all of Alenthyl. The county is named after the Vale of Saints, perhaps the most important thoroughfare in all of Alenthyl.

  • Saintsvale is a county spanning the central part of the Bastion mountain range from west to east. It is the most important county of the Crags by far, a fact often regarded as odd by outsiders because it lacks access to sea and is one of the smallest counties in all of Alenthyl. The county is named after the Vale of Saints, perhaps the most important thoroughfare in all of Alenthyl. The Vale consists of a network of interconnected, spacious U-shaped valleys that bridge the entire distance between Centrafeld and the Arbor. In stark contrast to the bare mountain slopes and tops, the valleys are home to a variety of plant and animal life. The Vale is not just an artery for road travel, it is also home to the river that mothers almost all of the major rivers in Centrafeld and Westershire and the Arbor, collecting its water from many streams that run down the steep slopes. While not as geologically unstable as Boothe, the county is not without its dangers. Tectonic activity in the north occasionally causes rockfalls, avalanches and in rare cases even landslides to tumble into the valley. Meltwater pulses are also a major problem, causing floods at the start of Bright Dawn, when the Deep Cold snow melts away.
