Haggard rigged the place with C4 as Cross had ordered. However he was killed by one of the animals infected with the Redlight virus before they could escape.

In the animated film adaptation of the novel made back in 1982, he was voiced by the late legendary horror actor, Christopher Lee, who also played Count Dracula, Francisco Scaramanga, Count Dooku, and Saruman.
