The 1956-08 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Wilson Speedway on March 18, 1956. Herb Thomas had been dominating the event, starting on the pole and leading a great number of laps before rain ended the event with Thomas in charge. Eventual season champ Buck Baker finished 2nd.
