Greene's Hardware is a fictional hardware store which Capcom created to promote the upcoming Dead Rising 2 during the PAX Prime festival. PAX Prime is a three-day game festival for tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers in the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle Washington. Instead of the traditional "Come play this game," Capcom's public-relations handlers are wrapping up the event in the guise of a hardware-store sale. Capcom booked some space in Seattle's central business district, three blocks distance from the Center, and constructed the space to be a giant hardware store on Friday, September 3, 2010.

To promote the event, Capcom public relations firm Fortyseven Communications distributed three circulars for the "Greene's Hardware Super Sale." Participants were able to play with the game's combo weapons.
