Kroda began his reputation as a regional crime lord on Nar Shaddaa, bringing in a healthy sum of credits for his own personal gain. He quickly became notorious for playing Hutt politics, and steadily rose in power over the centuries. Eventually, Kroda was contacted by a well-connected individual, impressed with the Hutt's track record and ability to manipulate his surroundings. The man struck an irresistible deal with Kroda, and shortly afterward the Hutt crime lord became a notorious, and powerful, cell leader within the organization. He took to running a gladiatorial-style slave operation, where he would pit fighters against each other for his own personal enjoyment, and those that wished to watch paid in kind for the entertainment. On top of the admittance fees, Kroda also enjoyed the proceeds that resulted from the extensive betting from the numerous spectators of the arena.
