Lisa soon began telling her sisters that James was being mentally and emotionally abusive with her and on July 31, 1993, she decided to leave him. He then began stalking and harrasing her, and a week later, she was back with him, and withdrew from her family. On October 27, 1993, it was revealed that the fire at their old house was a result of arson, and that the two people that set it were hired by James and Lisa. The couple then fled the country on October 22, and were last heard from on November 6. Although her family believes that Lisa was taken by James unwillingly, the police believe that she left with him on her own accord. They later learned from the people that were hired to commit the arson that James had lost his job six months before the fire, and that they learned that the motive of it was to collect insurance money. Both have been indicted on 25 counts, although Lisa's family believe that she is innocent. Extra Notes: This case first aired on the April 7, 1995 episode. Results: Captured. In April 1996, the couple traveled to the United States from Europe, and Lisa phoned her sister to tell her where they were and told her to call the authorities. FBI soon arrested them, and four days later James commited suicide. It is unknown how much time in prison Lisa received. Links:
