The McLaren MP4/11 was a car designed by McLaren for the 1996 Formula One Season. It was driven by Scot David Coulthard and Finn Mika Häkkinen, with the test driver being Michael Schumacher's brother, Ralf Schumacher. After a disappointing 1995 season with an unreliable Mercedes engine and handling problems with the MP4/10, 1996 went much better for the team. The MP4/11 and the Mercedes FO110D engine went more reliable than the previous 2 seasons. At the British Grand Prix, McLaren upgraded their MP4/11 to the B-spec version of the car, dubbed MP4/11B.

The MP4/11 and the Mercedes FO110D engine went more reliable than the previous 2 seasons. In pre-season testing at Estoril in February 1996, and at Silverstone in March 1996, four-time Formula One world champion Alain Prost was brought in to test-drive the car, meanwhile Mika Häkkinen was recovering from his horrible crash at Australia last year. At the British Grand Prix, McLaren upgraded their MP4/11 to the B-spec version of the car, dubbed MP4/11B. At the end of the season, McLaren lost their long-term title sponsorship Marlboro, but the team went on to recruit German tobacco company West. The team six podiums during the season; two by Coulthard and four by Häkkinen. McLaren finished fourth in the Constructors' Championship with 49 points.
