The Order of the Blue Light was the preeminent spiritual body of the Sa'ari people of T'lessia. Arising from the matchmakers' caste some seven thousand years prior to first contact with the outside galaxy, the Order grew out of a gradual understanding of the Force, which the azure-skinned Sa'ari referred to simply as "the Blue." As Sa'ari society and culture evolved, so too did the Order, adopting a code of service to the people of T'lessia and a structure remarkably similar to that of the Jedi. The Order helped to inspire the founding of the Lawyteret T'lessia as the binding planetary authority.

  • The Order of the Blue Light was the preeminent spiritual body of the Sa'ari people of T'lessia. The Order itself was led by an Eldarch, otherwise known as a Master of the Blue, and her protégé the Youngarch, who was hand-picked to serve as successor; the Youngarch would, in turn, choose an apprentice of her own upon succeeding to the role of Eldarch. Most Sa'ari who served the Order did so as lighters, a title whose rank and responsibilities roughly coincided with the abilities and duties of a Jedi Knight. Potential candidates for Order membership were brought in during their teen years and, after an initiation period of several years, were given the status of illuminated learners while they learned how to connect to and manipulate the Blue. In 4,000 BBY, the Eldarch of the Order received the Prophecy of the Starborne One, an eight-lined poem that foretold of visiting extraterrestrials who would be both similar to, yet radically different from, the Sa'ari themselves. Along with this prophecy was given the knowledge of Galactic Basic, which became the official language of the Order. In the years after this vision of the future, the Order gradually realized that there was more to the Blue than had been previously thought, with learners and lighters alike discovering powers such as telekinesis and enhanced senses. From then onward, the Order served as a conduit for the training and educating of all Sa'ari in terms of this energy and the abilities it allowed.
