Sir Gilfrid Gordon Craig (1871-5 April 1953) was a solicitor and local politician. Born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, he was the son of a general practitioner. He became articled to a solicitor and moved to London, rising to be senior partner of Messrs. Speechly, Mumford and Craig. Knighted in the 1939 New Years Honours for "political and public services in Middlesex". Chairman of the Middlesex County Council 1940-3, and member of the London Passenger Transport Board 1943-47.[1]
