Many doubted the city could attract another food store 14 years after the last one, The Market on The Square, closed. "but it happened with a private operator, a local operator and there is now a food store in Downtown Pittsburgh." Owner Robin Fernandez said about 130 customers shopped in the four-aisle store, with a variety of standard groceries, organic items and prepared foods, during a "soft" opening Monday. The first day was encouraging. As workers were cleaning up last night, "Even at 10, people were knocking on the door," he said. Rosebud, with 15 employees, will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
