George Walker Bush (born July 6, 1946) is the eldest child of former United States President George Bush and a Texas businessman. Often referred to as George W. Bush or George Bush, Jr. to distinguish from his father, Bush was the failed Republican candidate in the 1994 Texas gubernatorial election and the failed Republican candidate for Mayor of Dallas in 2002. Bush was one of the senior advisors for the 2000 John McCain presidential campaign, in which his brother Jeb was the vice presidential nominee. Considered a potential pick for Secretary of Commerce upon George Allen's election, Bush was not offered a role in the Allen Administration.
