  • Sheroes Central is a forum aimed at teens and young adults for discussing such topics as feminism, female role models, current events, entertainment, faith, culture, and... well, pretty much everything else. Many of the participants were brought together by the works of Tamora Pierce and/or Meg Cabot, who have both endorsed and promoted the forum. Sheroes is notable for being a true "safe place," where the tone is warm and inviting and everyone is welcome. In many ways, it functions as a support group for its members, and provides assistance for all kinds of problems, from homework and jerky coworkers to more serious issues such as eating disorders and self-harm. It's not all serious, though--general silliness is welcome in the appropriate areas, and "niceness threads" are guaranteed to brighten your day. The forum can be found here.
