| - __NOWYSIWYG__ Currently, comments are very irrelevant, off-topic, or trolling. I'm proposing we have standards for comment leaving, somewhere along the lines of:
* No off-topic discussion. All comments must directly have to do with the page they were written on.
* Have a question? Need some help? See the help desk!
* A comment must offer insightful opinions, insightful information, or insightful prediction.
* Shipping comments go on the Shipping, pages.
* Please avoid insulting other users, if you don't like their opinions, simply explain your opinion, and politely point out flaws in their opinion instead.

Which can all be added to the Notices above the comment using JavaScript! While their may be flaws with the points I said above, I still believe we need a stronger Comment Standard. --Nozus (wall • contribs) 20:40, March 7, 2013 (UTC) Regarding each point in turn: 1.
* This is already covered in the discussion policy - All comments must be relevant to their associated page topic. 2.
* I think this might be a good addition, particularly for newer users that may be unsure of where to ask questions or need help. 3.
* How do you judge a comment to be insightful? That seems highly subjective, and thus I do not believe a good addition to make. 4.
* The discussion policy allows shipping comments to be left on pages where relevance can be established. Per my forum last year where I proposed that particular addition, I do not see a problem with allowing such comments to be left if they are relevant. 5.
* Again, this is covered extensively under conduct on the discussion policy. I agree there have been some comments that have drifted into the grey recently, but I think a greater application of the policy would achieve more. For example, if a thread does start to drift away from topic, a comment can be left asking that users to move back on topic, or take their conversation elsewhere. 23:15, March 7, 2013 (UTC) Per HoT. The second point I agree with adding, for the benefit of new users, but the rest seems redundant. Perhaps we can start applying existing policy more, just like we did a while ago with off-topic message wall conversations, another already existing policy. -- 03:16, March 8, 2013 (UTC)
